What we decline

The work we turn away and the reasons why

  • We do not carry out MOT tests, so if your vehicle needs a statutory test you will need to book it with a testing station that holds the approval.
  • Accident damage and insurance-funded bodywork repairs are not taken on here, because we are set up for mechanical and electrical servicing rather than chassis straightening or paintwork.
  • We do not work on private cars or light vans outside a fleet arrangement, so a one-off domestic vehicle has no route into our workshop diary.
  • Anything that requires a manufacturer-specific diagnostic platform we do not hold is passed to a franchised dealer rather than guessed at with generic equipment.

Recent fleet work

Jobs we have finished for fleet operators

Delivery van brake overhaul

A four-van cohort came in over two nights for new discs, pads and fluid.

The operator could not spare a single van during the working day, so we split the cohort across two night shifts and kept each vehicle on the ramp for no longer than four hours. Discs, pads and flexible hoses were replaced as a set, and the fluid was flushed through on every van rather than topped up. Each one went back out with a written sheet showing the measurements taken before and after, and the operator's transport manager signed off the following morning. By keeping the same pair of vans paired to the same driver, we also avoided any bedding-in surprises on the first delivery round.

Tipper hydraulic service

A tipper's ram and pump were stripped, resealed and refilled on site.

The ram was weeping at the gland and the operator was losing a litre of oil a week, so we attended their yard rather than pulling the vehicle off the road. The body was propped, the ram stripped and the seals replaced with a matching kit, and the pump was checked for pressure once the system was back together. Hoses were inspected along their full length and two were replaced where the outer casing had rubbed through against the chassis. We refilled with the specified grade, cycled the body up and down under load, and left a note of the pressures recorded so the next service has a baseline.

Minibus pre-season check

A community minibus fleet was prepared for its summer timetable.

Six minibuses were booked in across a fortnight, two at a time, so the operator never lost more than a pair from the timetable. Each vehicle had its belts, hoses, brake and clutch fluid, tyres and battery tested, and the underside was checked for the corrosion that comes with coastal air. Two buses needed front tyres and one needed a new auxiliary belt, which we sourced and fitted the same week. Every bus left with a written condition report and a note of anything likely to need attention before the end of the season, which gives the operator time to plan rather than react.

From first call to handover

How a fleet booking runs from enquiry to collection

1

Tell us the vehicles and the fault

You call or send the enquiry form with the registration, mileage and what the driver has reported, and we will ask the questions that decide whether the work sits with us.

2

We agree a slot and a written estimate

You get a date, a time window and a figure in writing before anything is touched, with the parts and labour separated so you can see where the cost sits.

3

The work is done and you are kept informed

You receive a call if anything is found beyond the original estimate, and no extra work starts until you have said yes to it.

4

Road test, handover and paperwork

The vehicle is road tested, the invoice and condition notes are handed over with the keys, and old parts are kept for inspection if you want them.

What you get from us

The terms and habits that make fleet work predictable

Workshop slots held for fleets

You book against your own downtime, not ours, and we hold the ramp for the window we agreed rather than shuffling your vehicle back for a retail job.

Written estimates before work starts

Every job is priced in writing with parts and labour shown separately, and the figure stands unless you approve a change once the vehicle is apart.

Mobile attendance for yard work

Where a vehicle cannot be driven or the downtime is too costly, we attend your site with the tools and parts needed for the job in hand.

Parts sourced to your specification

We fit original equipment or a named equivalent, and you are told which is going on before the order is placed, so your records stay accurate.

Service records kept per vehicle

Each registration has its own history with us, including mileage, work done and any advisory notes raised, which is useful when you come to sell or audit.

Old parts kept for inspection

Replaced components are set aside and labelled at handover if you want to see them, which settles any question about whether a part needed changing.

The service range

Mechanical and electrical work we carry out on fleet vehicles

01

Clutch and gearbox repairs

Clutch replacement, release bearing and slave cylinder work, and gearbox removal where a fault sits inside the casing rather than at the linkage.

02

Cooling, exhaust and emissions systems

Radiators, water pumps, thermostats, hoses and exhaust sections are replaced, and we check that the repair has not simply moved the problem elsewhere.

03

Pre-MOT preparation

We inspect and repair the items a testing station will examine, so the vehicle arrives at the test station ready rather than coming back with a list of failures.

04

Brakes, steering and suspension

Discs, pads, drums, callipers, track rod ends, bushes and shock absorbers are replaced as needed, with the geometry checked afterwards where the work calls for it.

05

Scheduled servicing and inspections

Interim and full services are carried out to the maker's schedule, with filters, fluids and belts changed and a written record of the condition of each item checked.

06

Diagnostics and electrical fault finding

Fault codes are read and then verified against live data and a wiring check, so you pay for a diagnosis that has been confirmed rather than a list of possibilities.

07

Planned fleet maintenance

You agree a cycle of inspections and servicing across the fleet, and we keep to that schedule so vehicles are not run until something breaks.
