A small workshop built around other people's deadlines
Sopley Garage Repair is the trading name of Sopley Garage Limited, a workshop set up for the sort of vehicles that cannot afford a day off. When you run a fleet, whether that is three vans or thirty, the maths is simple enough. Every hour a vehicle sits idle is a job that does not get done, a delivery that runs late, or a driver standing about waiting for news. We built this business around that reality rather than around the idea of a garage that takes whatever comes through the door.
You will deal with the same people every time you ring. There is no call centre and no ticket number that disappears into a queue. Tell us what is wrong, or what you suspect is wrong, and you will get a straight answer about what we can look at and when. If a job can be done without taking the vehicle off the road, we will say so. If it cannot, we will tell you that too, and we will tell you early enough that you can move your schedule around rather than discover the problem at four o'clock on a Friday.
Most of our work is scheduled servicing, MOT preparation, brakes, clutches and the general wear-and-tear repairs that come with high mileage. We also spend a fair amount of time on fault finding, because a warning light that nobody can explain is worse than one that clearly means something. Our approach is unhurried where it needs to be and quick where it can be. Vehicles are checked over properly, parts are sourced from suppliers we trust, and nothing leaves the workshop until we would be happy to drive it ourselves.
We are not the biggest operation in the area, and we have no ambition to be. Being small means we know the vehicles we look after and we notice when something has changed since the last visit. It also means we can be honest about our limits, which you will find set out below. If a job falls outside what we do, we would rather point you towards someone who specialises in it than have a go at your expense.
